Everybody Loves Jim Lindsay! - Dexter Season 9 Teaser Breakdown: 'Around Town'

"There's something about a small town..."

Last night Showtime surprised everyone by dropping another teaser for the upcoming 10-episode limited series. This cheery 30-second promo is called 'Around Town' and was filmed in Shelburne Falls, MA about fifty days ago, and it is obviously better than the previous ones!

Dexter Morgan has now assumed a new identity as Jim Lindsay. The teaser shows how our favorite fictional serial killer has adjusted to his new life away from Miami, while highlighting that everybody in this little town called 'Iron Lake' is friends with him. He even has nicknames: Jimmy and... Jimbo!

The video then shows Dex passing by a store with a display of knives on the front, before it cuts to black and we hear him breathing heavily.

Here's the latest promo:

4. Even a group a highschoolers knows Dexter Morgan Jim Lindsay! Who's that guy wearing a blue cap? He's actor's Mark Wahlberg's nephew, Oscar Wahlberg who plays Zach. According to the casting scoop from February 11th, he's the captain of the Iron Lake High School wrestling team. He’s described as 'a bit of a bully', but he's generally the go-to-guy to have a good time. Zach is the gateway to the in-crowd, which includes the daughter of the chief of police, Angela Bishop. No information about the other two students other than their names (Becca and Scott).

5. Dexter Jim calls everyone by their names. What's inside that case he's holding? A collection of knifes? Perhaps the case is empty and Dexter is heading to a store for a reason.

Showtime

6. Another look at Jim Lindsay walking down the streets of Iron Lake. He looks like he's in a good mood. Or at least he is pretending, as usual.

7. Then Jim stops by a storefront. He looks curious for something in particular.

8. A knife caught his eye. The one on the right. W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company (generally known as “Case” or “Case XX”) have been producing hand-crafted knives in the US for over a century. According to a little research on Google, 'Case' is considered the epitome of the true American knife company. (Click on the image below to enlarge).

9. Then he sighs with a nostalgic look on his face. Old habits die hard. Dexter's urge to kill is back. He needs to kill. Again!
