Dexter: Season 8 - Music From the Showtime Original Series Is Now Available

Aimee Garcia to Star In TV Land Pilot ‘Impastor’

via TVLine: Dexter alumna Aimee Garcia has joined the cast of the TV Land comedy pilot Impastor.

The single-camera project from Christopher Vane (Suddenly Susan, Bill Engvall) follows Buddy, a deep-in-debt scalawag (played by Smallville‘s Michael Rosenbaum) who lies low in a small town by passing himself off as the gay pastor the local church recently hired.

Garcia has been cast as Buddy’s put-upon girlfriend back home in San Francisco, who is left to believe he died of a suicide, while Monroe will play the head trustee at the church where Buddy — to whom she is attracted — winds up working.

Today, Jaime Murray turns 38! She was born on July 21, 1976 in London, UK. On Dexter she played the role of Lila West in the second season. Jaime who recently tied the knot, is currently starring with her best friend Julie Benz on Syfy's hit series Defiance. Happy b-day Jaime!

Here's the official list for the Dexter Season 8 soundtrack by composer Daniel Licht, which will be released on Tuesday, July 22nd. The album contains 25 Dexter tracks:

Dexter Spin-off Status: "It's Always Possible, But Nothing Actively Going On" - Showtime President Also Denies Finale Rumor About the Writers

Dexter spin-off update! Showtime President David Nevins revealed Friday at the Television Critics Assoc. summer press tour in Beverly Hills that he’s kept in touch with star Michael C. Hall, “there’s no particular next project” in the works between the actor and the network.

An offshoot is “always possible, but there’s nothing actively happening,” Nevins clarified.

As far as the rumors that the Dexter producers were forbidden by execs from offing the title character in the series finale, Nevins responded, “No one pitched the idea of killing Dexter. Neither Michael nor the producers thought that was the appropriate ending.”

Mark your calendars, Dexperts! As we recently told you, the official soundtrack of the final season of Dexter will be out this month. Today the release date has been confirmed. The original music from Dexter's farewell season by composer Daniel Licht, will be available Tuesday, July 22, 2014.

Emmys 2014 - Dexter Didn't Get Any Nomination

Nominations for the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards were announced on Thursday morning and... (surprise!) Dexter didn't get any nomination. Unfortunately, that was Jennifer Carpenter's last chance to nab a nomination for her amazing performance in the final season of Dexter. Check out the whole nominations list after the jump.
