Julie Benz Talks About Dexter, Rita and Her New SyFy Series 'Defiance'
Former Dexter star Julie Benz, talks about her new TV Show, 'Defiance' which begins on April 15, Dexter and more. Check out her interview for Gotham Magazine, below.
One cool thing about Defiance, which premieres April 15, is that it's both a television series and a video game.
JULIE BENZ: Yes, it's the first time they've ever done this type of multi-platform launch where they have a game and a show. What's really cool is that the game will launch two weeks before the show and things will happen in the game that will carry over into the show and things will happen in the show that will carry over into the game
What was it about the show that appealed to you as an actress?
JB: Well, the scripts were really good, and I was looking for a strong female character to play. Especially the older you get as a woman, that's harder to find. Most scripts I get sent to me are victim, mother, wife. To find a character that was none of those things, and dynamic, and in a position of power is rare. Skip the jump, for more.

Dating Tips From Yvonne Strahovski - What She Looks For In a Man
Via: mensfitness.com: She’s Australian (that accent!), speaks fluent Polish—just like the sexy secret agent she plays in Chuck—and felt it pertinent to mention that she won’t run away if you accidentally pass gas in front of her. If that’s not a catch, well, then, we don’t know what is.
What we do know for sure is that you'll be seeing a whole lot more of Yvonne Strahovski, who starred in the latest season of Dexter and can be seen in the recent big-screen comedy The Guilt Trip, in which she plays the ex-girlfriend Seth Rogen can’t get over. It’s not hard to see why.

Michael C. Hall on Dexter Movie Possibility: "There's Been Talk, I Struggle to See It Being Worthwhile"
Having earlier done five seasons of Six Feet Under, which dealt with the morbid as well, what was it about Dexter that attracted you?
Initially, I think it was the challenge of breathing a sense of authentic life into a character who claimed to be without the capacity for authenticity, or life. I think playing a character that wasn’t affable or relatable or attractive enough for viewers to understand or identify with, or even root for, was a challenge that I welcomed as an actor, and was excited about, personally. Because after playing someone like David Fisher (Six Feet Under), who struggled with a sense of self-loathing and… a sense of being a doormat in his relationships, to play Dexter who is, ultimately, a man of action and a very decisive character, was an appealing change of pace.
