  1. No, no more time jumps. Definetly not this time!

  2. A time jump after the season begins would be weird. It would come off as a weakness in story-telling. Why has this question even come up? Is this going to happen?

    1. Don't worry, it's been told before that season 7 won't start with a time jump... And since it would be really lame to use the time jump after the first episode, I guess/hope it means that there will be NO time jumping...

  5. The idea of a time leap is absurd to me. It would feel like a cop out. We need to see both Dexter and Deb work through whatever it is that they need to work through. We need to see the fallout of The Discovery. They can't just skim over it, surely not?! I really hope not.

  6. They will either have to do a time jump or get another child to play Harrison.

    1. Yeah that would make more sense..

    2. They almost need to do a time jump to keep that same actor for Harrison and to account for the aging of Dexter himself.

Time compression is already becoming a huge continuity error on the show... The fact that Dexter was 3 years old in 1973, but somehow was graduating high school in what? 1991? That made no sense.

It's also hard because Dexter and Debra are supposed to be 2-3 years apart (exactly 2 in the books) and 2 to 3 in the show. Because Jennifer Carpenter is so young and looks younger than her age, it's basically turning Deb into the hottest near 40 year old on the planet. ;)

What aging..? It's been a year, with the proper professionals who i'm sure are working on the show Michael can look just the same. And yes they've been careless with time and age but that's irrelevant to this topic. If they do their job right, they can and should pick up where they left off.

    4. None of those things ever bugged me or even crossed my mind. Perhaps I'm lucky. The only thing I ever had a problem with was when Deb had a new haircut, it looked so bad. :) Oh no he didn't, yeah I did.

It never bugged me either. It's impossible to focus on such things when watching the show. And... in my opinion, she looked hotter than ever with that haircut! That and the season 4 look were my favourite ones. :P

    6. Whaaat, you're crazy. She looks better than ever right now. I would take her for a ride in my race car bed. :$

  7. I think there has to be some sort of a jump. I think the church scene will be played in backflash. How can they start where it left off and have the Russian mob play in. I don't know just my 2 cents

  8. it doesn't really matter what they'll do as long as they do it well

    I like that perspective.

    1. I respectively disagree e v. They need show some balls and pick it up right where they left out . Unfortunately they are not going to. It's gonna be flashbacks and that is a cop out.

  10. A subtle small time jump would be ok depending on the place and time.
I think if it went back when they were kids (or older) it would be a scene in which Dexter and Deb had a moment, and would further give off a little of how she feels about what she is witnessing.

    1. We know that there will be a flashback. But time jumps? Hopefully not.

btw: Don't worry about Harrison. Astor was 10 in season 3 (when Rita was already pregnant) and somehow managed to be 12 in season 5 (before Harrison's first birthday).

  11. after pulling such a big trigger, a time jump would really be pretty unforgiveable, unless it`s explained in flashbacks naturally, which is a writing style i quite enjoy. so yes and no! but we will need to see the aftermath of the discovery pretty much straight away! hahah
