Please tell me you have info on Dexter! — James
NATALIE: Could Dexter be getting a new lady-love partner-in-crime? It has been a whole season since the vengeful Lumen left Dex, and we're hearing that we'll meet a new lady with a violent past this season — but we also hear she's actually expected to stick around for a while. She's now trying to live a quiet life... until she meets Dexter.

    1. I thought they were kinda dry together.

    2. Forgot to mention that they already said the new lady is named 'Hannah.'

  3. I like dexter better without him having to deal with a "partner"

    1. It'd be fine if she was aware of his dark passenger, and gave him the space he needs to do his thing... or come along, without being annoying.

  4. LUMEN¡¡¡¡ TODOS AKI QUEREMOS A LUMEN ¡¡¡

  5. Talk about an overdone character... Rita was trying to live a quiet life after being brutalized by her husband, Lila had been living a quiet life prior to meeting Dexter, and Lumen had been living a quiet life until she was raped by Jordan Chase's crew. Starting to sound like a Dexter cliché. Unless they find something interesting to do with the character, she's just going to be another rehashing of all the other victimized female characters in the series prior.

And, for the LOVE OF GOD, please don't make her a partner in crime or the lover/partner-in-crime. You should've kept Lumen instead of creating a new character if so, and if a love-interest, what was the point of Deb realizing she was in love with Dexter? In fact, what was the point of any of S6 aside from the last 30 seconds, then?

So, hopefully we'll be getting a slowly building antagonist over this season and next rather than another Lumen. I hope.

    1. Amen, I HATE the whole "partner" thing that he did with Miguel and then Lumen. That's why I love book Deb so much. She "knows" what Dexter does, but stays the hell out of his way and she's never on scene, she's just collecting a little box of her own slides of people that Dexter has carved up that she's asked him too. =P

    2. I may buy the book, based on your comments. The TV Deb is such a bore, so predictable and actually, rather annoying. I thought Season 6 was snoring and hope Season 7 makes up for the pointless plot in Season 6.

  6. I have to take this info with a grain of salt only because a lot of the times when info starts to leak about something, usually it turns out completely wrong and we do not see such a thing (such as the new guy Deb hired was supposedly reported to be like Doakes but turned out to be a decent person on the show or the supposed Deb learning Spanish for once but doesn't) I think the sooner they start shooting episodes and we get more consistent info about it then it might be believable to me. Not saying this info is wrong but I won't believe it until there is solid evidence of it.

    1. That's true. They could comment on something & then change their minds when it comes down to getting it on film.

  7. I agree with Sylvia. Are they actually creating a character to serve as a love interest in order to appease the hysterical teenage girl "OMGNOINCESTORPUPPIESWILLDIEEWWWEEWWW" crowd, OR are they just putting out vague descriptions that are totally misleading in order to screw with people like they did last year with the idiotic "I want Zombie Doakes" crowd.

Probably the latter. Makes no sense to come out in interviews and say "We intended this from the start" and then say "Oh a dozen fans and a few critics on another network's payroll are whining, so actually we did not mean that at all, and we are abandoning this 6 year story arc in favor of another dart on the wall attempt at Lila/Lumen!"

At that point they might as well hand the kids on the IMDB forums strap-ons and say "Yea, we Dexter producers are your bitches kiddies!!!" ROFL

    1. Amen. Seriously, I'm so worried about this. I hope they do what they inteded to and don't worry about what the "fans" say they want.

  8. Silvia might be right... have we gotten any confirmation from the producers or Showtime that this character even exists at the moment? Could be total malarkey, for all we know.

  9. O damn I am good (!) That's the dangerous lady they were on about! I commented on what role she'd play. Cool!

OK so this could be fanning the *potential* flames between Dex & Deb, or getting in their way? I like it. Maybe it's the impetus for Deb to reveal her feelings for Dex that she's been struggling with.

  10. I just hope they don't have a do over of any of the past characters. I'd like it to be as twisted as possible. I like Deb and Dex having tension in a mutual attraction. If there is a lady with a violent past then let her go after Dex and have Deb come to his defense. A closer with him and Deb doing the deed - and then doing "the" deed, would be epic. We probably don't have many seasons left whether they are running out of ideas or not - so keep it crazy! If I'm not cringing and on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what will happen next from week to week, then the writers aren't doing their job. KEEP IT CRAZY! It's Dexter not "Friends"

    1. I'm all for twisted too, plus sexual tension between them would be great. But Deb doesn't keep hardly -any- feelings to herself, everything just BOILS OVER cos she can't contain it, she's so open, honest, vulnerable, and passionate.....so that alone makes me wonder how long she could keep the tension going..........

    2. Amen... keep it moving forward.

I've just been re-watching all the seasons and it seems to me that all the best moments of the show are Dex/Deb stuff or Dex/Doakes stuff, but aside from all of that, I came to one overwhelming conclusion.

#1 Debra Morgan loves Dexter beyond all reason, in ANY capacity.

#2 She is smart and tenacious, and she has continued to grow. She has really good instincts.

#3 Just like the love has always been there subconsciously so TOO have her "suspicions" - and oh my gosh, she has been a part of so many investigations of Dexter, has been a part of profiling him several times, and knows his MO back and forth and this leads me to point four.

#4 It would be completely disingenuous for Deb to see the knife thrust, the plastic wrap, the sliced cheek, the tools, the outfit, and NOT immediately understand exactly who Dexter is, all the way. Many have speculated that Dexter will convince Deb this is his first kill, or that he has only recently started doing this. I bought that at first, but after carefully reviewing the series I realized that it's not possible. It just can't fly without pissing all over all those moments in previous seasons.

There is no feasible way, in character development, or writing to back away from either the love story, OR Deb knowing what he is, without ignoring the show mythology and killing all the moments leading up to this, and destroying the credibility of the Debra character. There is just too much gas in the tank. Deb's journey has been nothing short of remarkable, and they can't short change it.

Right away she needs to know that Dexter killed Brian to protect her, it's the one thing right there that will strike an immediate emotional resonance with Deb. Michael C. Hall said that "Dexter will take charge." And I do believe that's what he will do. Logically, it's the first thing he has to say to her, the conversation practically writes itself.

      Dex: OMG
Debra: "It was you, all the time it was you! You are just like your fucking brother..."
Dex: "No! I killed my brother, (to protect you/because I love you )"

That's the key right there, that's the lynchpin that will immediately manipulate Deb from an emotional standpoint. She loves Dexter and wants more than anything in the world to be loved by him, to share deep things with him, so understanding that Dexter killed his own flesh and blood for her, how then could she turn him in?

    3. Unless Deb joins in on the killing...her character can be deleted. Scenes with Deb are so snoring.
