Michael C. Hall: "I’d Like to Recapture a Little Bit of Anonymity Again"
Via craveonline.com: Just two years ago, Michael C. Hall was locked in the fight of his life. Diagnosed with cancer (Hodgkin’s Lymphoma) he was in the midst of full-on treatment, actually accepting his Golden Globe and Screen Actor’s Guild Award for the lead role on Dexter just after the undergoing the rigors of chemotherapy.
It’s safe to say he emerged from that successful battle with a reenforced passion for life, flourishing in his long-running TV hit on Showtime and exploring the world around him in ways he never could’ve imagined.
Most recently, Hall toured New Zealand with a group of close friends after doing some promotional appearances for Dexter. After making it back to the U.S. safe and sound, he connected with Crave Online to discuss his experiences at the bottom of the world and at the top of TV.
CraveOnline: It wasn’t that long ago that you were literally fighting for your life. Now, less than two years later, you can sit down and talk about a trip halfway around the world. What does that personal journey feel like now?
Michael C. Hall: Whether it’s traveling to New Zealand, or shooting Dexter or walking through Central Park on a pleasant afternoon, the experience of facing a life threatening illness and successfully going through treatment has been an invitation to a greater sense of gratitude for me – for any moment I have. And I continue to be blessed with some pretty great moments. Read more after the jump below...

Colin Hanks to Guest Star on 'Happy Endings'
Via EW.com: Colin Hanks is going from a killer drama to a killer comedy: The actor who spent the last season on Dexter as an apocalypse-obsessed serial murderer will appear on an episode of Happy Endings, EW has learned. The body count should be considerably lower on the ABC comedy, as he tackles the role of… Colin Hanks, a new celebrity friend of Dave (Zachary Knighton). What brings Hanks into Dave’s world? The Steak Me Home Tonight truck has become a Chicago hotspot boasting designer drinks. Hanks begins shooting his scenes tomorrow, and the episode will air later this season.

Michael C. Hall Is Not Willing to Continue Dexter: "The Season 8 Finale Will Be the Last"
Via nzherald.co.nz: Michael C Hall is no longer surprised when an A-list Hollywood star sidles up to him at a party and whispers in his ear a desire to be a serial killer. It happens all the time. "They have had two or three drinks and I wonder about their sincerity," Hall, the 40-year-old who plays a serial killer in the hit TV series Dexter, laughs.
The big time actors want to go head-to-head with Hall's character Dexter Morgan, a blood splatter analyst working for the Miami-Metro Police Department who secretly hunts and kills other murderers. "I've been amazed by some of the people who have said it,'' Hall adds. "It is flattering to have people of note lobby, at least casually, to be on the show.''
Hall will not say who the A-Listers are, or who he would like to see on the show in future episodes, but some Dexter guest stars include Jimmy Smits, Edward James Olmos, Jonny Lee Miller, Mos Def, Colin Hanks and the most chilling of all, John Lithgow, as the ultra-creepy Trinity Killer in season four.
"I would hesitate to say because, if I said, it may make it less of a possibility," Hall says of his guest star wish list. Read more after the jump...

Dexter Season 6 - Canal+ French Teaser

Author Jeff Lindsay Discusses Why Is Dexter So Popular
Via comicbookmovie.com: Dexter Morgan is the most sympathetic serial killer since Norman Bates, and the star of a Showtime TV show, series of novels and forthcoming Marvel comic book series. CBM's Ed Gross sits down with his creator, Jeff Lindsay, to explore why Dex is so damn lovable.
I have to ask something about this whole Dexter thing lately – do you suddenly find yourself on the defensive, that people are taking this whole thing too seriously and blaming the character for too many real-world incidents?

Jeff Lindsay: From the very beginning, one of the questions we got from reporters was, “Whatabout all the terrible feedback?”, but there hasn’t been any. There have been a couple of people, mostly in the lunatic groups. There’s one group in Kentucky that has, like, 11 members and a fax machine, whose name is at the bottom of every petition that asks, “Is Dexter the tool of the Devil, stealing your children’s souls and dragging them into alleys and making them drug addicts and killers?” I’m sorry, but these people need parenting help, not veto control over TV and books. Dexter Season 7 - Producer Manny Coto Promises "Big Change Up" to Formula
IGN.com talks to Dexter EP Manny Coto about Deb's surprising new feelings, the twist that many saw coming and what's next.
At the Television Critics Association Press Tour last week, IGN TV had a chance to speak with Dexter executive producer Manny Coto (formerly an EP on FOX's 24) about this past season, which saw Dexter chase after a sadistic, apocalypse-obsessed killer and Deb discover, through therapy sessions, that she's actually in love with her adopted brother. A polarizing season for sure, which many TV critics called unsatisfying - yet Dexter still managed to wrangle up its highest ratings ever.
So what about Deb being in love with Dex? What about that big twist that many folks saw coming way ahead of time? We asked Coto to give his thoughts on those topics and more, as the writers get ready to begin work on Season 7. Read more after the jump below...

PHOTO: Michael C. Hall & Jennifer Carpenter Grab Coffee in Los Angeles (Jan 18)
Via celebuzz.com: Only a little over a month after their divorce was finalized, Dexter co-stars Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter reunited for some coffee Wednesday afternoon in Los Angeles.
The former husband and wife went for the incognito look as they caught up, each wearing sunglasses and jeans, as cameras snapped away. Hall was also seen rocking a pretty hefty-size beard. Could Michael and Jennifer be on their way to reconciling? Or is this just the beginning of a beautiful post-divorce friendship?

Showtime Boss David Nevins Talks The End of Dexter
Via collider.com: As part of the network’s TCA Press Tour presentation, President of Entertainment at Showtime, David Nevins, took some time to talk about their popular, long-running drama series Dexter, what he thought of the creative choices for this season, and the relationship between Dexter (Michael C. Hall) and his adopted sister Deb (Jennifer Carpenter). Nevins also talked about the status of future seasons of Nurse Jackie and The Borgias, his hopes for their latest comedy, House of Lies, and where this season’s most critically acclaimed new drama, Homeland, will be headed in Season 2.
Question: Dexter had its highest ratings this season, but how did you feel about it creatively?
DAVID NEVINS: I thought they had interesting storylines. I thought that the theme of Dexter (Michael C. Hall) trying to figure out what he wants to pass on to his son and his questioning issues of spirituality made for interesting stuff. I think there’s a very clear trajectory now, where they’re going over the course of the next two seasons. I think it’s going to help to write with that end-game in mind. I’ve been pushing to shake up the formula a bit, and I think there’s gonna be fundamentally different dynamics now that Deb (Jennifer Carpenter), in addition to confronting her feelings for Dexter, has also just been given a huge reveal at the end of the season. That’s gonna ricochet through, and change the feel. I think it’s time to shake up what Dexter goes through, so that he’s not quite such a lone wolf. Read more after the jump...

Showtime Dominates at the 69th Golden Globe Awards in an Ιnsignificant Ceremony for the Dexter Fans
The 69th annual Golden Globe Awards were held on Sunday night in Los Angeles at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, with Ricky Gervais serving as host for a third straight year. Showtime has cause to celebrate, with Homeland winning Best Drama and Best Actress in a Drama for Claire Danes, and Episodes’ Matt LeBlanc taking the award for Best Actor in a Comedy.
While it’s not uncommon for cable to walk away with arms full of Globes, the major broadcast networks were almost completely snubbed Sunday night in favor of cable offerings like Showtime’s Homeland, and Episodes. As we all know, unfortunately Dexter wasn't nominated for a Golden Globe, this year. We hope to see moments like this and this again in the future, because Dexter deserves it.

Executive Producer Manny Coto: "We're Not Really Looking at an End Game Right Now"
Via TVGuide.com: Now that Dexter Morgan's serial-killer secret has finally been discovered by the person closest to him — his sister — Dexter's producers promise to slice right into the juicy setup over the next two seasons...and maybe even a feature film after the show ends its run on Showtime.
While the writing team has yet to formally convene to plot out the consequences of Deb's discovery that her adoptive brother is meting out his deadly Code against Miami's murderers, executive producer Manny Coto tells TV Guide Magazine that the show won't shy away from a radical new reality — including the fact that Deb (Jennifer Carpenter) has developed some complicated romantic feelings for Dexter (Michael C. Hall).
"Debra has discovered, at the very least, that her brother is a cold-blooded killer," says Coto. "That is going to inform the next two seasons, or however many more seasons there are. It's going to be a different dynamic, which is part of the fun. What we've done is upended the show, and it's now no longer about a guy who's trying to keep his secret from his sister and everyone else around him. For all intents and purposes someone knows who he is and Debra has a big decision to make: 'Do I turn him in? What do I do about this? I've just seen him kill somebody.' That's the first thing we're going to be dealing with." Read more after the jump...

Dexter Season 9 Still a Possibility - Showtime Boss Offers New Story Hints
Via screenrant.com: Showtime President of Entertainment, David Nevins, is back with another update on everyone’s favorite serial killer, ‘Dexter’ – offering new season 7 plot details as well as asserting that season 9 is still a possibility.
Showtime President of Entertainment, David Nevins, is quickly becoming one of the most noncommittal and chatty network heads in the business – taking every TV-related event he attends as an opportunity to toy with the emotions of Dexter fans.
However, this time, Nevins is set to deliver some good news and intriguing details for fans of the Bay Harbor Butcher – as the Showtime executive indicates that, while the writing team is still working toward a Dexter season 8 end-date, there’s still a possibility that the show could continue on into season 9 and beyond. Executive Producer Manny Coto Talks Dexter Season 7
Via bloody-disgusting.com: Season six of "Dexter" ended with a shocker. Depending on your point of view, the shocker was either Debra walking in on "Dexter" mid murder, or Debra pursuing romance with her adopted brother at the advice of a professional therapist. (I was more shocked by the latter.)
Current showrunner Manny Coto met with the Television Critics Association in a cocktail reception, and he went there on both topics. First for new news. Season seven will obviously address whether Debra reports "Dexter" or keeps his secret (more likely the latter. If they can do 13 episodes on Debra arresting/chasing "Dexter", bravo.)
A technical decision will be where to pick up the season premiere. Coto is leaning towards picking up immediately, but jumping forward is a possibility. "We've discussed maybe jumping forward and flashing back, we've discussed picking up right afterwards," Coto said. "We don't know yet. One advantage [to picking up immediately] is you're able to play the emotion forward. There's an advantage to jumping ahead and doing flashbacks but then you're trapped in flashbacks and the audience spends a lot of time catching up. That can be good because you're setting up a mystery but at the same time, there were advantages to just picking up where you left off and going forward so you're with the characters as you go."
