  4. Chien ... it's been awesome at times, and not so great at times. The problem is that Season 1 and Season 4 were just so freaking perfect, perhaps the most compelling seasons of television ever made, that expectations are just too high and can never be met.

Also, people like to bitch about stuff on the internet.

  5. that the problem with every show everyone complains about how the sixth or seventh season isnt as good as the first few because people are stuck in the past! a show has to change other wise it get's boring! it's the ignorant audience's fault not the shows

  6. Season 6 was awesome up until now and I am sure will end up this way, totally awesome.I agree season 1 and 4 were awesome too, especially season 1.Season 4 wasn't all that perfect because they blew it a little with the fact that Dexter knew who Trinity was and had all those chance of killing him, but chose not to.Trinity wasn't the antagonist who killed Rita because he was a genius serial killer, he was the antagonist who killed Rita because of Dexter's sloppiness.Dexter could've killed him right from the episode 5 and his reasons for not doing so were a little poor.At least in seasons 5 and 6, where Dexter again knows who is the perpetrator early in the season, there are some good motives explaining why he didn't kill them already. In season 5 there were 5 perpetrators, so he killed them one by one and now, in season 6 he thought there are two and tried to apprehend them both and then got all confused with this because of Travis's insanity.I am not saying season 4 wasn't good, it was one of the best season, but it wasn't freaking perfect like how the anonymous post from 6:24 describe it.

  7. What do you people think of the idea of Matthews being the antagonist of one of these two upcoming seasons?

You are right about those points. I forget those little annoying details in light of Lithgow's chilling villain. Season 4 can't really touch season 1. Besides they killed Rita, and that still tangs me a bit, so I rescind my overzealous assessment of Season 4.

    I am a reasonable guy. :)

  10. I think that Matthews is fishy, but I don't see him as a major antagonist.

I've always believed that Matthews is a dirty cop, a flunky linked to Estrada, the big time Colombian drug lord that ordered the kill on Laura Moser. I keep waiting for Estrada to show up - because in a way I have always wondered if Harry trained Dexter to eventually take that guy down.

Why bring up that guys name if the character never shows up in the series, eh? I think Estrada is Dexter's endgame.

  11. I don't think of Matthews as a main antagonist, but I can imagine him on Dexter's table.Maybe Dexter learns about some murder commited by Matthews to cover some of his shady "business" or maybe Matthews will have to kill someone in order to remain free and unprosecuted.I don't know about you, but I always seen him as a dirty cop and I am not talking about his hobby for sleeping with prostitutes that are going to die of overdose the next morning.I am sure there is a lot more to know about his character than just his deputy chief persona.I am glad they finally reveal more about him.

  12. This season has had very little sense of urgency whatsoever. That has to do with the fact that Dexter has been a split personality this season. One side has him struggling with the concept of religion and the other is his plain old self.

He spent so much time with brother Sam that if felt like a different show. Things just were not gelling this year. And on top of that, we are getting bashed in the head with everything this year. No subtlety whatsoever.

  13. Damn, I love the camera work from :35-:42. I vote that as the best shot of the season.

  14. What made Dexter great in Season 1 (and 2 and 4 to some degree) is that he was a serial killer - a SOCIOPATH trying to hide in society - but now he is just a vigilante. And like every other vigilante show it's boring. This season is the worst yet: everything but the kitchen sink and Dexter trying to save to day. Dexter is not a hero! I thought it might go somewhere when his brother showed up - GREAT! let's get rid of dear old Dad and bring back serial killer Dexter - but he came and went : ( The only redeeming scene so far is Deb as a love interest - it's sick and twisted - what it used to be.
