Now for the sake of this article, I will divulge that I have seen until Episode 6 of this season. I say this because I usually never post spoilers on TVDoneWright.com . But this one upcoming twist is just too big to pass up.

Are you sure?
SPOILER AHEAD
Still with me? Get ready.
In the final scene of Episode 6, Season 6, we have a shocking return. This return is a familiar face from the past. The return is also significant because it could change the whole dynamic of Dexter. Not just Dexter Morgan, but DEXTER the series.
That’s all I’m giving up. Who do you think is the returning familiar face? I want to hear your theories in the comment section. Every week until Episode 6 airs, I will post a CLUE.
Update:
CLUE #1 (Oct- 21st): She hasn’t been gone for long, so don’t expect a pretty blonde.
CLUE #2 : Dexter has secrets, he’s like an unsolved quiz. But only a select few know who he really is.
Omg I wonder who it is? The 6th episode is so far away. ~rachal79
ReplyDeleteThe episode is called "Just let go" just like dexter told lumen to do with the bags.
ReplyDeleteLumen
ReplyDeleteRamon Prado
Anton
Can't think of anyone else that hasn't died.
doakes
ReplyDeleteHow about Jonah?
ReplyDeleteOMG, OMG!!! I really really hope it's Lumen 'cause I want her and Dexter to be together, they made such a wonderful couple. Dexter needs a girl like her, and Harrison needs a mother figure. I cross my finger and hope that it's her.
ReplyDeleteRita's Daughter ?
ReplyDeleteLets think, WHO is still out there?
ReplyDeleteCody & Astor
Lumen
Ramon Prado
Anton
The Mitchells
Carlos Guerrero
Yuki Amado
Jim McCourt
Det. Cira Manzon
I guess most of them wouldn't change a lot, so i think there are only 3 possibilities:
Cody & Astor
Lumen
Ramon Prado
My favorite guess is Cody & Astor, so maybe Dexter can train them (like in the books)
Or maybe Trinity - as a ghost...
iit'James Doakes!
ReplyDeleteIf this really is a big spoiler, and it can/will change the dynamics of the show, and it's NOT somebody who is dead, then it has to be either Jonah or Lumen. I don't we'll see Lumen anytime soon, at least not in this season (I think we would have heard it by now, if she was coming) and besides - she wouldn't change the dynamic. She wouldn't tell Deb, and at the highest Dexter would end up as Dexter and Lumen. Since I don't see that happening, I bet It'll be Jonah. Otherwise I think I'll be disappointed.
ReplyDeleteHe could tell Deb, he could end up as Dexter's new assistant, whatever... There are SO many things he could be. I'm really looking forward, if it really is him! But Lumen wouldn't be bad either, I just don't see it.
Cody and Astor wouldn't me much of a spoiler.
Jonah,Can't be Doakes but that would be a MAJOR twist if it was some how
ReplyDeleteLumen (most possible), Jonah Mitchell or Ramon Prado (less) ...
ReplyDeleteRita comes back as a ghost like harry does to dexter.
ReplyDeletejust kidding but its an idea.
im guessing lumen
I'm pretty sure we'll see Lumen again, but not anytime soon. I think it's Jonah, I'm just not quite sure what he could do, but this would be one hell of a twist since he's Trinity's son and Arthur Mitchell was one of the best vilains of the show's history.
ReplyDeleteDoakes. I'm sure
ReplyDeleteDoakes is DEAD for all the people who keep saying him.
ReplyDeleteI believe that it is going to bee James Doakes. Because even thought we were lead to believe that he died in season 2 they were never able to honestly prove that he was really dead.
ReplyDeleteIf you remember. He was fighting for his life and trying to get out of the cage that he was in. That was about the time that that one lady came in a turned on the gas that caused the whole building to go BOOM.
I'm glad I read the comments, cause at least this is a spoiler that I can handle (i.e. it doesn't actually tell us who's coming back). I think it will most likely be Jonah Mitchell partly because that storyline is still out there, but also because my second guess would be Lumen and from what I've heard she isn't coming back this season. Just my opinion.
ReplyDelete...but as an aside, a ghost of Doakes (or maybe Little Chino?) would be hilarious.
I really hope it's Jonah. There was so much potential for him last season, but it was all abruptly droped
ReplyDeleteIt's Jonah. Already leaked on other sources online.
ReplyDeleteActually, sources report that the FBI Agent that was close with Quinn is returning. As a result, Jonah Mitchell comes in.
ReplyDeleteJonah Mitchell does fit in with the whole religion theme, too. Perfect time to bring him back!
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of sources?
ReplyDeleteYes I want to know what sources too I am searching and all I keep getting is stuff John already posted for us. @rachal79
ReplyDeleteOne more thing they said specifically that loose ends, including Kyle Butler, will be tied up this season. I think Johannsen said it at Comic Con. I don't understand how that is such a great spoiler if it is Jonah. I would need something bigger.
ReplyDeletehas to be Lumen
ReplyDeleteMy best guess? Rudy/Brian.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all - I can't imagine the return of someone like LUMEN being so significant for the show even though she was great, as well as the 5th Season.
JONAH MITCHELL? No chance - it's been a YEAR between 5th and 6th Season, two years between the 6th and 4th, so bringing up the Kyle Butler storyline again after so long would be simply idiotic. Even the suspicions of Quinn about Dex killing Liddy were not properly explained in the storyline.
Rudy/Brian was the most significant character from the past and also the ONLY ONE, who appeared as a ghost/vision to Dexter just like his father Harry (Remember Season 2?). His reappearance would be very significant for Dexter, but that's only my opinion.
My big question is :
ReplyDeleteHow can someone see the 6th episode of the season before anyone ??
Jonah probably, I don't think Lumen will return so soon. But how would Jonah change the plot so drastically? He has been a slightly timid character in past. Ramon Prado is too emotionally driven to be Dexter's partner...Damn it why did I have to read this episode six is like a decade away.
ReplyDeleteIT IS DOAKES! HE ROSE FROM THE ASHES TO HUNT DEXTER DOWN!
ReplyDeleteSURPRISE MOTHERFUCKER!
ReplyDeleteI vote Brian Mouser as Dex's Dark Passanger to counter balance his visions of Harry.
ReplyDeleteIf Quinn and Deb's relationship remains strained and Jonah's return helps renew Quinn's suspicions about Dexter's connection to Trinty then maybe it sets him off on another investigate Dexter path?
ReplyDeleteQuinn's relationship with Deb was the thing that made him cool his jets so Jonah's return could be a trigger. Then say one of the subplots is Quinn finally figuring out Dexter's secret and that's one of the cliffhangers at the end. Quinn knows now what is he going to do about it.
I'm not ruling out Ghost Doakes either.
ReplyDeleteDick Cheney. Nobody is more evil than him. Dexter will now probably start waterboarding his victims. And at the next CPAC conference, dexter will be given the defender of the constitution award.
ReplyDelete^Fail
ReplyDeleteI would need at least a clue to have a guess,it would be good to know if he/she managed to stay alive during the past seasons, seeing lots of people talking about dead characters like Doakes lol
ReplyDeleteIt's Jonah.
ReplyDeleteWow, some people are complete fucktards. Brian coming back as a ghost? You seriously think that would dramatically impact not only Dexter but the entire show? Yea. The only way Jonah returning would be dramatic and impacting would be if he picked up a little habit from his father, and was now a sick twisted heir to the trinity throne. My best guess is Lumen, but I just don't see that happening, so I don't know. I guess we will see in another 3 weeks.
ReplyDeleteit's Dexter's long lost REAL Dark Passenger
ReplyDeleteLaura Moser...maybe she was never dead after all. maybe her 'killing' was fake in order to protect her...cos if people think your dead they wont look for you to kill you right?
ReplyDeleteIt is Brian - at least if we read the books. He is coming back in a later one and saving dexter and deb! and it would be good if it were like that!!
ReplyDeleteIt's bound to be Jonah. It's the only real open ended storyline for a returning character. Lumen's exit made sense and for her to return she would need to have rediscovered her 'dark passenger', all other significant past characters have been killed pretty definitively, or have no reason to return.
ReplyDeletePerhaps Jonah will be in the congregation during Harrison's baptism, and the episode will end with him getting up in front of everyone and identifying Dexter as Kyle Butler.
I agree with Adam. They won't bring back a dead character, because that doesn't really make any sense, and Lumen probably won't be back for a while (if ever). Plus, the Kyle Butler storyline was never resolved. If it's not Jonah at the end of the episode, it's bound to be Quinn's FBI buddy.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Jonah has become a killer like his father
ReplyDeletePlease god don't let it be Lumen!!! She needs to stay GONE
ReplyDeleteIt has to be Doakes he is the only one we never actually saw die. We saw the explosion but we never actually saw him die and the DNA they got could have just been from his blood. He has been rocoverig with memory loss all this time :\
ReplyDeleteEvery other character we have seen get killed by Dexter or we have seen them die, it can only be Doakes.
Doakes is clearly dead. We saw him engulfed in flames and his remains were confirmed to be Sgt. Doakes (Agent Lundy told Laguerta this).
ReplyDeletewhy are people saying Doakes??? He died. Yes we didnt see him burning alive so to speak haha but the remains were clearly identified as him and dental records confirmed this.
ReplyDeleteIt has to be Jonah, as this would massively affect the series. it would be a massive step for Dexter(series) too cos it would be the first real time they have picked up a story line from a previous season. which is definitly a step in the right direction!!! Cant wait to see this!!.
i am also interested to know how this person has seen up to episode 6????
a lot of reviewers in the TV industry get 3 episodes at a time.
ReplyDeleteHey guys and gals,
ReplyDeleteI've never posted here before so please bare with me. After reading all the comments and the origianl "spoiler filled post" I would have to agree with the majority of you...that Jonah Miller will be the returning cast member.
When going through each season, thinking about who's still alive that will/can pose a threat to Dexter's lunar-based activities and whose story is left open to drop a potential bomb on Dexter's entire existence...its gotta be Jonah!...right?
I'd like to say I have an idea on how the story will pan out, and even though I have no idea how the original poster had access to future episodes, I'm assuming there are a limited number of scenarios.
1) Because of the new lab-tech taking the prosthetic hand once belonging to The Ice Truck Killer it forces Miami Metro to go over old high profile cases to make sure no other evidence had been stolen and that would open the door to bringing Jonah back into the fold. It's possible that because there's no more direct, emotional connection between Quinn and Deb he may pick up where he left off on the Kyle Butler investigation; possibly get back in touch with the FBI agent hiding Jonah, lie or tell the Feds there's a new potential "lead" but in order to verify it he needs to interview Jonah.
2) Even though in reality with someone in witness protection there's no way the FBI would keep a large profile target, like Jonah, within the same state, let alone city, where the only suspect who could kill him may still be residing. However, if the FBI was called in by Deb to help work the Snakes/Alpha-Omega murders because she wants to close a large profile case and get a certain recognition as the new Lt., or the FBI comes in by force because of the high number of serial killers and mass murderers whove inhabited the Miami area within the last six years and Quinn reconnects with one of the agents who used to be garding Jonah, now on the new task force to help catch the Alpha-Omega killers. Through that reconnection Quinn tracks down Jonah and finally gets him to answer who Kyle Butler really is.
3) No offense to all who posted but I highly doubt Jonah's story will end with him taking up the "family business". That makes zero sense. Even though I know in reality there is a possibility that Jonah could end up turning to a life of crime or even acting out violently because of his father's abuse, I highly doubt that is how the writers will wrap up his story. But I may be way off with my guesses as well. So lastly, and I think this scenario has little to no chance of happening, but Jonah could just show up! If he was no longer under federal protection and he wanted to either get back in touch with Kyle, get back in touch with Quinn because he finally wanted to identify Kyle Butler and help himself move on, and/or the last possibility but then sees Dexter in Miami Metro and says "Hey Kyle. What are you doing here?" Quinn looks up at Jonah, then Dexter and starts putting the pieces together, while Jonah has just pulled the vail back on Dexter in the police station just like Trinity did.
...just my thoughts.
Brian comes back as a dark angel. Thats my only guess.
ReplyDeleteI AM SURE IT WILL BE JONAH MITCHELL, BUT I WOULD LOVE TO SEE IT BE DOAKES AND THE REASON HE HASENT BEEN SEEN OR HEARD FROM IS THAT HE IS STILL WANTED FOR BEING THE BAY HARBOR BUTCHER. THAT IS JUST A THOUGHT. I KNOW THAT LUNDY TOLD MARIA THAT THE BODY IN THE SWAMP WAS IDENTIFIED AS JAMES DOAKES THROUGH DENTAL RECORDS. IT WOULD BE COOL FOR THEM TO FIND A WAY AROUND THAT.
ReplyDeleteJonah could be as much a game-changer as anyone. He can identify Dexter as Kyle Butler and show that Trinity and Dexter had a connection. Jonah himself doesn't know the details of the connection and why Dexter was pretending to be someone else, but given that Dexter's wife was Trinity's victim, it sets up a lot of questions. He could be blackmailing Dexter and even if he's not, his continued existence represents a threat, but killing him would be against the rules.
ReplyDeleteStop saying Doakes. He was burned alive and torned into pieces! THey identify his body! He is 100% dead!
ReplyDeleteSo it's a she??? I am so confused
ReplyDeleteMARIO i totelly agree with you
ReplyDeleteI guess you mean LUMEN isn't gone for long, so we shouldn't expect HER...
ReplyDeleteIt's both Jonah AND Brian. Presumably one as a ghost, the other alive:
ReplyDeletehttps://twitter.com/#!/klown13/status/102172762747047936
Cybernetic Doakes.
ReplyDeleteBlah blah blah, oh let's just get on with it, real "Dexter" fans just want the next episode, bring it on motherfockers.
ReplyDeleteHow about the classmate who gave Dexter the blowjob at the reunion? She's a pretty blond...nevermind. I don't see how it could be a show changer, but I really liked the Irish nanny...would like to see her come back...she interacted so well with Harrison. Also, Astor moving in could possibly be a show changer.
ReplyDeleteyou guys are dumb, it said "She hasnt been gone for long, so dont expect a pretty blond" So its obviously a female, and they want you to think its Lumen so it's prolly Astor.
ReplyDeleteThe guy who is the source of the spoiler (someone on the IMDB boards) said that the person is male.
ReplyDeleteI just think he didn't write the Oct 21 hint clearly enough. He should have written "The person has been gone for a while, so don't expect a pretty blonde." In other words - it's not Lumen or Rita.
Anonymous above, the clue is "she has NOT been gone long, so don't expect a pretty blonde".
ReplyDeleteenough of this its both brian and jonah u c jonah first in ep 6 u all happy now its spoiled
ReplyDeleteactually its matthew st patrick from six feet under.dex turns gay and they have a steamy sex scene full frontal
ReplyDeletei guess the majority of people don't know how to read. The guesses of Doakes and other guys? Really? It is a girl people. Learn to read!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAny of the surviving Mitchell's could be big trouble for Dexter. I'd also imagine that the Mitchell family would be interested in discovering details about Arthur's crimes. There would have to have been pictures, I'd think of Rita, maybe even with her husband, the poor grieving blood spatter expert. The irony of that would have gotten a lot of press. They might not put everything together, but they'd put something together. The daughter, who would have done anything to get away, seems like the most desperate, the most damaged and likely to blackmail. Harry's Code doesn't provide much protection for a situation like that.
ReplyDeletegellar is real http://entertainment.gather.com/viewArticle.action?articleId=281474980650296
ReplyDeleteThe female FBI agent that interviewed Dexter about Arthur Mitchell.
ReplyDeleteTrinity'z Daughter... It'z a woman, and neither Astor or Lumen would be as huge as they're making this out to be. So Hopefully it'z her. Other wise this huge shocking thing probably won't end up being so huge and shocking just played up like things usualy are before they're aired but here is to hoping itz here.
ReplyDeleteJonah Mitchel. Definitely.
ReplyDeletei also believe its jonah because debra can't stay s1ngle for a whole season!!!and he's cute...
ReplyDeleteI've been a little suspicious about the whole Ice Truck killer hints given here and there so far. Not to say it's Brian, but perhaps something to do with him? Also I cant tell by the 'pretty blonde' hint if they're referring to Ryan or Lumen. Or Rita even, though unlikely. And if 'she hasn't been gone for long' means we've seen this person fairly recently or for example, "Lumen hasnt been gone long enough for it to be her"
ReplyDeleteughh this is frustrating.
Though it's probably Jonah.
I'm not experienced in guessing these kinds of things but I'm taking myself as far back as season one.
Like that kid he threatened when he caught him stalking someone, and then I think he stole Dexter's wallet or something.
Maybe even the neighbor that kissed Rita.
But remember Lumen said 'Just let go?' when dropping the hefty bag in the bay?
OOOOOH what about the kid Trinity kidnapped and Dexter saved? There are too many to think. I hope it's one I didn't guess.
If it is some one has a ghost or some ilusion like harry IT WOULD BE RUDY because if u may recall he had to let go of him dropping the dolls head into the see and the ep name is just let go...
ReplyDeleteI think could be Jonah, but that wouldn't change the dynamic of the show at all. I really hope it's Brian though.
ReplyDeleteIt says dont expect a pretty blond because she hasnt been gone long, not that it couldnt be a blond who died her hair or something maybe
ReplyDeleteGOING BY WHAT THE CLUES SAY IT HAS TO BE LUMEN. SHE IS THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS SEEN THE REAL DEX AND IS ALIVE TO COME BACK.(UNLESS ITS A GHOST). I DONT THINK YOU COULD REALLY SAY JONAH KNOWS WHAT DEXTERS SECRETS ARE, HE JUST KNOWS THERE IS SOMETHING UP.
ReplyDelete3rd clue is up...... it's on other websites. Basically says a lot of fans will have different reactions and it's going to be controversial. I hope this is as impressive as they're making it sound!
ReplyDeleteIt is Rudy. IMDB lists stunt doubles for Christian Carmargo in episode 7....

The somewhat plausible ones worth it would be:
ReplyDelete- Dexter's momma (Laura, wasn't it?) returns, physically. Would probably be tied into the religious blabla that fills this season of Dex+er. Laura would represent Mary, mother of God, or Dexter would be Saul, or his bloody childhood days would be tied the crucifixion of Jesus... whatever floats your boat. Something heavy-handed enough.
- Brian the ghost pops up and becomes a regular - in Dexter's mind. Probably as an offset for Harry. From then on, Dexter would always have his Bugs Bunny moments, with a tiny Harry floating over his right shoulder, dressed as an angel, whispering: "Do no evil, Dexter... do no evil!", and a tiny Brian wearing a devil's costume, jumping up over Dexter's left shoulder and going: "Yeahyeahyeah, kill'er, Dex, slice the slut, yeahyeahyeah!"
It's either that or something really lame (the blonde intern is Brian's sister/daughter/mother/previously-unknown-transsexual-half-brother-turned-woman-after-a-sex-change-operation | that black guy turns out to be Doakes's second cousin twice unmoved), or idiotic (Doakes returns as a mutated half-man, half-alligator | Professor Lieutenant Castillo is a demonic entity and Dexter destroys him to obtain salvation).
It is Brian and it is posted on the IDMB boards, you have to look at the episode 7 though to find him, he appears in the last minute of 6 - so why has Dex brought Brian back? Just when the light was starting to find a way in.... and then? Who else appears this season? Jonah, and Brian needs to encouragement Dex, because we know things don't go well for Jonah and when we find out why, we are not to bothered by his fate - the question going forward is how long does Dex keep Brian around?
ReplyDeleteencourage - sorry about that!
ReplyDelete
