Michael C. Hall to Narrate 'Vietnam in HD' for History Channel

Michael C. Hall is set to narrate a new miniseries, Vietnam in HD about the Vietnam War for the History Channel.

The History Channel exhaustively researched and collected thousands of hours of uncensored war footage for the six-hour miniseries. Much of what they recovered has never been seen before.

The team behind the project then restored and converted the most important footage into high-definition. Much of the footage obtained was from soldiers' personal handheld cameras.

Dexter star Michael C. Hall will narrate the project, and the writings of over a dozen war veterans will be brought to life by figures like Edward Burns, Kevin Connolly, Adrian Grenier, Jerry Ferrara, Blair Underwood, Zachary Levi, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Dean Cain, and Dylan McDermott, among others, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Among the soldiers who will be featured are Karl Marlantes, a Marine whose 2010 novel Matterhorn is widely considered to be one of the best Vietnam accounts ever written, and Joe Galloway, a United Press International reporter who was awarded a Bronze Star with V for Valor for rescuing wounded soldiers under fire at Ia Drang.

The project was conceived as a follow up to the History Channel's 2009 Emmy Award-winning miniseries, WWII in HD, which similarly told the story of a war using the first-person accounts of soldiers, reporters and other personnel.

The miniseries will premiere this fall.

Dexter Reference on The Simpsons - Ned Flanders as Dex!

Via EW: Ned Flanders may be a God-fearing individual, but apparently he’s not afraid to slice and dice. In this clip from The Simpsons’ annual Halloween episode “Treehouse of Horror XXII” — which was shown last weekend at the animated Fox comedy’s Comic-Con panel — the opening credits of Dexter are given a Springfield makeover, with Flanders assuming the role of the meticulous serial killer, Dexter Morgan. As we’ll learn when “Treehouse of Horror XXII” airs Oct. 30, Homer’s pious neighbor believes that the big guy upstairs is instructing him to murder various residents of the town.

Dexter Boss Spills Season 6 Secrets, Reveals How Much Life Is Left in Showtime's Killer Saga

Via TVLine.com: In just a few short months, Showtime’s Dexter will return with what promises to be a jaw-dropping, game-changing sixth season. TVLine spoke with executive producer Sara Colleton about the new and improved Dark Passenger (whom, she says, “is at the top of his game in every way”), unveiling the big secret to Deb (“It will happen”), and just how long she and the other Powers That Be think this wicked game can last. (Hint: It’s a while).

TVLINE | What can we expect to see from Dexter and his Dark Passenger this season?
Dexter is back, and he still wants to play. [Laughs] The last shot in the Season 5 finale was Dexter doing something we rarely do in the series: breaking the fourth wall. He looked in the camera and says, “Wishes are for children.” So, we’ve jumped ahead a year and this is now a Dexter who is over Rita’s death and over the loss of Lumen. He has realized that the desire to merge his lives is never going to work, so he’s compartmentalized things. An intimate relationship is not right for him to have, so he’s trying to shut that part of him off because it doesn’t lead anywhere that’s good for him. He’s at the top of his game in every way.

TVLINE | Leading up to previous seasons, it has sometimes been said that Dexter will be reverting to the man we met in Season 1. Is that the case this time around, or is he now a whole new man?
I don’t think Dexter is ever a new character, but rather every year a composite of what we’ve seen him experience and learn about human nature. We never arbitrarily say we’re going to clean things up and start over with him; he is the collection of all of the years. Read more after the jump...

Brea Grant Talks Dexter Season 6, Masuka & More

Via Daemonstv.com: Season 6 of Dexter returns this fall bringing many surprises including a familiar face: Brea Grant, who played the super fast Daphne Millbrook in Heroes, will be joining the Dexter cast as sexy and foul mouthed Ryan Chambers who will be a counterpart to always “charming” Masuka.

Can you talk about the casting process to get the role on ‘Dexter’?
Brea Grant: That was a weird one for me. It wasn’t like a normal casting process. I was actually in Texas for my grandmother’s funeral and I get a call that they wanted me to come in and read and I couldn’t go. So, I got my mom to videotape me on her iPhone and I got my brother to read across from me. Then I just uploaded it to Vimeo. Actually, I sent it to my boyfriend who uploaded it to Vimeo. They sent that over and they hired me from that. It’s crazy.
Can you talk about your character, Ryan Chambers on ‘Dexter’?
Brea Grant: Ryan Chambers is the newest lab intern on ‘Dexter’ in Masuka’s lab.

Do you work more with Masuka and Dexter?
Brea Grant: With Masuka, almost exclusively. Read more after the jump...

Dexter Alum David Ramsey (Anton) Lands Recurring Role on 'Blue Bloods'

Tom Selleck’s character, police commissioner Frank Reagan, is about to get a new challenging working relationship on Blue Bloods. A CBS spokesperson confirms to The Hollywood Reporter that Dexter alum, David Ramsey, is joining the series in a recurring role, as first reported by TVGuide.com.

Ramsey will play the new mayor, Carter Poole – a liberal, who has a background in community organizing and is particularly soft on crime. Needless to say, that rubs Reagan the wrong way, but the two find a way to cooperate. Mayor Poole debuts on the Season 2 premiere airing Friday, Sept. 23.

Ramsey played police informant Anton Briggs on Dexter’s third and fourth season. He also appeared on the short-lived NBC series, Outlaw. His film resume includes Con Air, The Nutty Professor, and Pay It Forward.

Episode 6.07 of Dexter will be called "Nebraska". This episode begins filming in a couple of weeks. Any thoughts on this title?

Dexter Season 6 - The Biggest Crimes Ever in Miami

Less than 10 weeks left until the premiere of season 6, and from the latest Dexter Season 6 promo we took an idea about what we'll see this season. The biggest serial killer, Professor Gellar is coming and by the look of Masuka's face on the latest promo "Thank God" we understand that this killer and this season are going to be insane!

Don't forget Scott Bucks words: "They are probably the biggest crimes we’ve ever seen on this show. We’re going toward a different kind of serial killer than what we usually see. This is someone more in line with the Zodiac Killer…. He kills people with great conviction. This is probably the first serial killer we’ve had who thinks he’s in the right."

We anxiously wait for the 3-minute season 6 promo on Comic-Con 2011, this Thursday. Cast & Crew photos, interviews, promos and much more coming this week! Stay tuned!

Dexter Season 6 - "Thank God" - BRAND NEW PROMO!

An all-new promo for Dexter Season 6! Can't wait!!!

Colin Hanks: "The Fans of Dexter Won’t Be Disappointed - It's Going to be a Crazy Season"

Colin Hanks talked about Dexter Season 6 and more on collider.com:
Did playing a serial killer in this help prepare you for joining the cast of Dexter?
HANKS: Well, no, not really. I’m still at that stage where I feel like I can neither confirm nor deny anything involving the Dexter television program, but it is a happy coincidence. I realize that there are these themes in pairs with a lot of stuff. In Orange County, my character wanted to be a writer, and in The Great Buck Howard, my character wanted to be a writer. It comes in twos. Lucky is about a serial killer, the same way that Dexter is about a serial killer. I find a theme and I play with it for a little while, and then I move on. I’m not planning to make a run at the serial killer convention circuit, or anything like that.

Are you looking forward to going to Comic-Con with the show and getting that immediate feedback from the fans?
HANKS: I am! I can’t wait! I’ve been wanting to go to Comic-Con for ages. I’ve never been able to be involved in anything there. The one time I was in something that went to Comic-Con, I couldn’t go and I was so upset. I want to go check out what that’s about, so I’m very excited about Comic-Con. But, I’m very much ready for the fact that I’ll go up there and be on a panel and no one will want to talk to me. They’re all going to want to talk Michael [C. Hall]. We’re not going to disappoint the fans. It’s going to be a crazy season. Read more after the jump...

Michael C. Hall on Emmy Nomination and Dexter Season 6

Another new interview with Michael this time from TVGuide.com. Michael C. Hall woke up to find a horde of text messages and e-mails letting him know the good news that he had garnered his fifth Emmy nomination. "I had actually forgotten that the announcements were today, so it really was a surprise," the star of Showtime's Dexter tells TVGuide.com.

"It feels like a miracle that we're still making this show at all," he continues. "We're in our sixth season now, and it's a show about a serial killer, so it's kind of incredible. The fact that it's happened more than a few years running is a real kick in the head." Read more after the jump...

Michael C. Hall: "I Learned of my Nom in the Bathroom"

Via THR: If you’re parked on the 405 freeway Friday, look for Michael C. Hall. The five-time Emmy nominee, who received his fourth best actor in a drama series nom for Dexter, planned to celebrate the honors Thursday night online. “I’ve got an early call tomorrow in Long Beach and I think I’ll celebrate by going on Mapquest and figuring out a way to get there and avoid Carmageddon,” the actor said with a laugh.

Hall, who was driving to work to film Episode 5 of the Showtime serial killer drama, said he learned of his nomination – and the series’ five mentions including its fourth for best drama – in the bathroom.

“I went to turn off my alarm, which I keep on my cell phone in the bathroom so I’ll get out of bed and not rollover and fall back to sleep and had a bunch of texts messages and emails from representatives, friends and colleagues,” Hall said. “I’d actually forgotten that today was the day; it was a nice surprise.”

Hall credited Season 5 guest star Julia Stiles, who picked up her first Emmy nomination for playing victim-turned-killer and Dexter’s love interest Lumen on the series, with much of the show’s Emmy love.

“What she brought to the table went so far beyond what was initially on the page,” Hall said. “It had a lot to do with certainly her being recognized, me being recognized and the show being recognized. A lot hinged on whether or not that relationship was compelling and that had so much to do with her.”

Julia Stiles' First Nom 'Icing on Cake' After Dexter Guest Gig

Via The Holloywood  Reporter: The actress tells THR that she thought her character would "end up dead in a bathtub."

Julia Stiles considers her Dexter guest star Emmy nomination the “icing on the cake” a year after her turn as Lumen in Season 5 of the Showtime series. “It was fun to work on that show and this is just an added bonus a year later,” she said.

The actress planned to celebrate her first Emmy nomination with a toast with friends at tonight’s Nikka Costa concert in New York, and has plans to attend both the Creative Arts Emmy ceremony – where the guest categories are awarded – and the Primetime Emmys. “I get to attend two parties,” she joked.
“Creativity and arts sounds good to me.”

Asked if Lumen would ever resurface on Dexter, the actress said it made the most sense for guest stars to pop in for one season – and that the Emmy drama series nominee has its “hands full” with new guest Mos Def. “I thought I was going to end up dead in a bathtub,” Stiles said. “I’m really surprised that Lumen survived.”

With John Lithgow taking home last year’s guest actor in a drama for his turn as the Trinity Killer on Dexter, Stiles played it cool when asked if that series’ successful track record in the category made her an early front-runner. “I don’t think it works that way,” she said.

Dexter Season 6 Episode 5 - The Filming Began

The filming of episode 6.05 of Dexter has already started. As we said in previous posts this episode will be called "The Angel of Death".

Executive Producer Sara Colleton about Dexter's Nominations

Another reaction about Dexter's Emmy nominations, this time from the executive producer of the show, Sara Colleton:
"This year there are so many great new shows -- The Killing, Justified, Game of Thrones -- and there are only so many slots, so that it was really a pleasant surprise that we were nominated. We've gotten nominations in the past, but when you're faced with so many new shows you think, 'Well, we had a great run!" So it's all that more sweet. We were very proud of last season."

Julia Stiles' Reaction About Her Nominee for Guest Actress in a Drama

Let's see how Julia Stiles reacted for her nominee for Emmy this year:

"I knew that the Emmys were coming up because they send you all the screeners, but I didn't know they were today. So when I got a phone call [from my manager] early this morning, I figured it would be important -- it was way too early to be getting a call. I'm really excited. It's just nice to be invited to the party. And this is a unique category, so I guess it's to two parties! This is icing on the cake. The experience of working on the show was so great that this is just an added bonus."
