Six seasons, six different villains for Dexter. Which of them was your least favorite so far? Vote below, and tell us your opinion for each of them in the comment section!
I do not even remember skinner but no doubt lila is the answer ! I also do not understand how kind of person can vote for travis, trinity and even Brian?!
He was utterly boring and I think that the writers just threw him in so the Homicide Department would have something to do. That being said, I think Miguel was interesting, so I voted for Jordan Chase being the worst as the Skinner didn't really even count.
I hated Lila, just hated her. The Miguel season was a bit on the boring side, but it did finish well. And I, like many others, can't understand how people would vote for Arthur. I can understand hating on Brian... it WAS a bit contrived, that it was Dexter's brother I mean. It works for the books, because the books are crazy and weird, but it doesn't so much mesh with the show's style.
Kimberlee... I thought Brian was so far above every other villain on the show that it isn't even close. He is in the spirit of the original story and is the prototype serial killer.
Trinity didn't even make sense. He was too goofy and extravagant IMO. I mean, he was funny to watch - but never for a moment believable as a legitimate serial killer. The fact that Trinity was so popular is the reason the show has become so campy now. They keep trying to write villains to compete, and they should not.
People who think Trinity was campy and over the place, completely missed the point about him. He was supposed to be all over the place! He was supposed to be that guy as a cover, with his rage and guilt burning deep inside and only brought it out with his ritual (but that's what you were supposed to think). Meanwhile, he physically and emotionally abused his family for it and into maintaining his human cover. There's also a psychological aspect to it him (which goes over heads). But he showed he could be quite intimating and scary multiple times.
It went over nobody's head. He was the way he was because John Lithgow played him that way. It worked... for what it is, but in my opinion it was hardly the "great performance" that some are making it out to be.
It's just one of those things: Lady Gaga, Twighlight, Hunger Games, Justin Bieber, et that has created sort of a frenzy and is vastly overrated and will one day look a bit more silly than it does right now.
Apparently, it did. Yours. And it was how it was because that was how it was written for the aforementioned you skimmed over. And Lithgow knocked it out the park.
Comparing Trinity or Lithgow's performance to those clowns that they call artists lol.
Joe, There are people who would throw rocks at you for disparaging Lady Gaga, just like you are doing to me for daring to have a different opinion on Lithgow's performance.
It's not personal buddy, it's a matter of taste.
In my opinion, Jimmy Smits is the best actor that has been cast as a villain on Dexter. It's just that his character's storyline wasn't very good - still, with what he was given, he did a fantastic job.
Trinity: a masterpiece Brian: awesomeness Jordan: not bad Lila: didn't bother me but didn't impress me Travis: yawn . . . Miguel: super yawn . . . Skinner: Some things speak for themselves :/
I hate to say this because I love his Dad so much but Travis was just terribly acted!! Terribly, terribly, terribly. He just did not sell the part at all for me.
He's a heck of a nice guy, he just doesn't have the chops for a big hitting role like that. But he's stuck with the expectations of having the "Hanks" name. It's kinda like Michael Jordan's son or Walter Payton's son - you know, they could play ball but they weren't their fathers - they weren't even "pro" material.
Usually the kids who go on to be superstars are the ones who's parent's "weren't" superstars. Take George Clooney or Gwyneth Paltrow - they come from families of character actors that nobody quite remembers, so they have all the contacts within the system, but none of the expectations. They get their shots but they have to toil in obscurity, perfect their craft and prove themselves.
Someone like Colin Hanks comes in with all the weight of the world on his shoulders and no real opportunity to be his own person and to earn it the hard way - when the doors open for you to easy it's often the worst thing in the world for your art. Good art requires a degree of suffering.
Lila sucked . . .miguel horrible. . .travis eh. . others I liked. My Opinion stretches further but the comments are more for the people that are voting so no need to start a debate
I thought Travis was one of the best villains. But the best of the best was Arthur Mitchell. Also, let's not forget Brian, who still plays an important part in Dexter's subconscious. Miguel Prado, The Skinner... well, let's just say that if I had known how it was going to be, I would have skipped season 3. As for Jordan Chase.. let's face it, he was just an excuse to bring in Dexter's sidekick. That didn't work in season 3 and I don't know how they thought it was going to work in season 5. I hope they won't do the same with Debra in season 7. That'd really suck.
There's no way Lila was the worst villian. She undoubtedly was not the best, she's behind many, but still, she wasn't boring and she was unpredictable. Yes, she wasn't a serial killer, but she was still a psychopath.
1.Arthur Mitchell 2.Brian Moser 3.Travis Marshall 4.Jordon Chase 5.Lila Tournay(I didn't like her character that much but still season 2 was a great season 6.Miguel Prado/Skinner(Season 3 was the worst and most boring season in my opinion).
How can anyone vote for Trinity?
ReplyDeleteThis.
DeleteWho would even consider voting for Brian?
ReplyDeleteLeast favorite villains: Miguel & Skinner. Both of them were so boring.
ReplyDeleteJordan Chase without a doubt.
ReplyDeleteTrinity
Brian
Marshall (when he snapped)
Lila
Miguel
Skinner
Jordan Chase
I'd vote for the skinner, but not for Miguel.
ReplyDeleteI do not even remember skinner but no doubt lila is the answer !
ReplyDeleteI also do not understand how kind of person can vote for travis, trinity and even Brian?!
I think there ara some people who misunderstood the question because there can't be an explanation for the votes for trinity and travis
ReplyDeleteMiguel and Lila were the most irritating!
ReplyDeleteSkinner was boring and weird.
Jordan Chase was a horrible guy!
Travis, I'm still watching.
I completely agreee!!
DeleteLila was disgusting! I hated everything about her!
ReplyDeleteOr it could be that some people thought Trinity was too goofy...
ReplyDeleteI place them in this order:
ReplyDeleteBrian Moser
Arthur Mitchell
Miguel Prado
George King
Lila Tournay
Jordan Chase (and friends)
Travis Marshall
Anyway, there's no denying that the each has served their purpose.
I don't understand why 3 people voted for Biney... he was amazing.
ReplyDeleteBrian
ReplyDeleteLila
Arthur
Miguel
Travis
Jordan
The Skinner

ReplyDeleteThe people have it right, Lila and Miguel. No doubt!
ReplyDeleteYea Lila and Miguel were the worst.

ReplyDeleteOrder from favorite to least favorite: Arthur, Brian, Travis, Lila, Jordan, Miguel/Skinner.
DeleteTravis was crap. Zero impact villain. Writers' fault, not Colin's.
ReplyDelete1.Arthur Mitchell
ReplyDelete2.Brian Moser
3.Travis Marshall
4.Jordon Chase
5.Lila Tournay(I didn't like her character that much but still season 2 was a great season
