Latest from TV Guide's Mega Buzz. Scott Buck recently said that "from the opening scene, we begin with Dexter in a place of great danger. Within seconds, you’re going to see Dexter in a place you haven’t seen him before." Click the link below to read a major spoiler about the first scene of the sixth season.

Please give us scoop on the new season of Dexter! — Mitchell
NATALIE:
The season premiere opens on a bleeding Dexter calling 911 to report that he has been stabbed. Has someone finally discovered his secret and exacted a poetic revenge? Did he slip in a pool of someone else's blood and fall on his own knife? Will he analyze his own spatter pattern while he waits for the ambulance to arrive? Nope, nope and nope.

  1. He did it to himself on purpose knowing the people who would respond would be the two paramdedics he has been shown killing in the photos from the first episode.

  2. Anonymous^^ I think you're right!

  3. I don't think it is that simple. That would suppose he would know their timetable.

  4. I have not read it, and I won't do it. :P
I want it to be a surprise.

  5. @Anonymous 1

I don't think it's that simple either, the fact of the matter is when a 911 call is made it is also recorded. Which mean when the two paramedics (and their ambulance presumably) goes missing they'll trawl through their records and see where they were last called and will hear Dexter's voice... That'd put him too close to rule no.1 of the code (don't get caught) to be allowed.

I mean it is entirely possible that this is the case BUT that would be extremely sloppy of the writers if they did that.

  6. I wonder if maybe they go backwards for a change of pace here and this opening scene is somehow related to the end of the season....

  7. The only comment about the records and Dexter's voice that I have is that he's used different voices in the past (ex. season 3 he left an anonymous tip for Ramon Prado about Freebo and used a really funny accent), so he could easily do the same thing again. I'm not saying I'm right though because that would still be incredible risky on Dex's part.

  8. I just missed your comment @Charlie... I like the way you think!

  9. He's just checking them out, you now, research...

  10. Could be research, but it's the opening scene of the season so that would be a little anti-climactic.

  11. ..... dexter would have to know their timetable? have you forgot who dexter is... have you forgeten the "hunt" dexter doesnt just find some smuck to kill... he stalks his prey making sure their guiltiness.. you must not know dexter

  12. @poster above,

if he planned to kill both of the paramedics by simulating an injury and calling 911, he has to be sure the two guys are working together that night. If he didn't take that precaution, he would have to deal with a no-fitting-code paramedic. And it's not an info simple to get, even for Dexter. And as an other poster said, calls are recorded and certainly the phone number. IMO, they are easier way to stalk thoses guys, if it's really in Dexter intention to kill them.

To finish, I know the show in its slightest details.

  13. Yeah I'm the 12:47 am poster. I guess what I was trying to get at is that maybe they won't show Dexter's hunt to us (all the planning and whatnot) so that we get a really cool/confusing scene at the beginning. We don't have to see every moment of pre-kill to enjoy one of his kills, IMO. Especially for the first scene of the season I think the writers would rather us see Dex stabbed, then we realize it's part of his plan. I'm just guessing here, idk.

  14. Ok yes I understood your thoughts. But it's his plan itself which disturb me ( if it is actually a plan ). It seems a bit far-fetched and risky whereas he could just stalk them one by one with his usual shadowing method.

  15. Oh, okay! Sorry, it's hard to know 100% what everyone's thinking/meaning on here cause it's not face-to-face, but I agree with you that it does seem risky and far-fetched that Dexter would stab himself to get picked up by EMTs just to kill said EMTs.

  16. You forget something... Dexter wants to kill those guys... i guess they are criminals,,, maybe they kill people that need their help...
so he stabs himself, and call them.. so when they come, they finish him?
i mean... they are 2 and he is loosiing blood,... doesnt make any sense

  17. I kind of hope he stabs himself honestly. I don't want to start the season out with someone getting the drop on Dexter and stabbing him.

This dude is a pro with a knife - it'd be a downer to start a season with someone getting the best of our (anti) hero.

I also think the first poster was on to something. Maybe they took a page out of The Wire where Dex uses a cell phone not tied to him in any way. Either a "burner" (prepaid) or he swaps in a SIM card from a previous victim. That would allow him to call 911, fake a voice, then ditch the phone. It couldn't be traced to him after that and he could kill the dudes when they showed up.

  18. Another thing may be that, that this is not the FIRST scene, but first scene of the last episode in first episode ;)
I mean.. it would be of course shame, to do things like that, and give peoples hard time of "what the hell... I know he will be stabbed, just show it.."

BUT on the other hand, if this is not that, then I think that this would be neither what Anonymous I is talking about, or just.. realy stabbed Dexter, being nearly in death arms, will think about "god" stuff's and then.. puff! 1 - he will fell into coma, and then - 1 year later (i know. its stupid and not acceptable) 2 - he will recognize "god" as something higher, and will start to think deeper about it/him/her.

  20. Belb Hugh - DUMB AS FUCK IDEA!!! DON"T BE SUCH A WANK!

  21. I don't think he would stab himself, although I could picture him doing so if it was necesary. Like when he broke his hand to escape the skinner. I can't wait to find out!!! I only hope the writers stay true to the original dexter feel, night prowling predator hidden in plain sight.
